SPRINGFIELD – An Urbana man sustained serious injuries in a one-vehicle crash Friday night on Columbus Avenue near Croft Road in Springfield.
Chad Dyer, 47, was operating an eastbound vehicle about 9:07 p.m. on Columbus Avenue when it traveled off the right side of the road and struck a tree, troopers of Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol report.
Dyer was flown by medical helicopter to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
Troopers were assisted by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and the Springfield
Township Fire Department.
The driver was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation to determine if alcohol and unsafe speed on wet pavement were contributing factors.
Columbus Avenue was closed for about three hours as a result of a large amount of crash debris.
