Benjamin Logan Board of Education members approved position reassignments within the district with the announcement of the resignation of middle school principal Jeff McPheron.
At the end of the current school year, Mr. McPheron will relinquish the Ben Logan post to accept the superintendent position at Botkins Local Schools.
Middle school assistant principal Rob Walter will be the new principal, with his salary set at $76,869.
At his request, Brian Hunt moves from his position as an educational supervisor back to the classroom to teach fourth-grade mathematics. Mr. Hunt has a continuing teacher contract and with his years of experience will be placed at the top of the teacher salary schedule, masters+15. His salary next school year will be $67,185.
Mr. Walter, Mr. Hunt and Mr. McPheron all served in their current positions for two years. Mr. Hunt also served a number of previous years as elementary school assistant principal and teacher within the district and is looking forward to getting back to the classroom to work more closely with students on a day-to-day basis, officials said.
