A 31-year-old Bellefontaine woman died Tuesday from a suspected drug overdose despite efforts of friends and safety personnel to revive her.
Tesia G. Wolfe was found by friends unresponsive around 4:30 p.m. in a chair inside her 1090 Heritage Court residence.
Emergency dispatchers instructed the friends to begin cardio pulmonary resuscitation efforts.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department and paramedics with the Bellefontaine Fire and EMS Department took over efforts but could not revive Wolfe while en route to Mary Rutan Hospital.
She was pronounced dead at MRH.
An officer had been at the residence an hour prior on a welfare check. He knocked on the front door, attempted to look in through windows and talked with a neighbor about the resident.
However, the officer had no legal standing to enter the apartment as there was no indication Wolfe was in danger at that time.
Detectives are investigating the case and observed indications of drug abuse.
