Riverside Local Schools celebrated its Class of 2020 in a different but still meaningful way Saturday morning in a socially distant ceremony outdoors in the school parking lot. Class President Dora-Kennedie Bryant read her classmates’ names as they received their diplomas on stage, while Junior High and High School Principal Kelly Kauffman provided each student’s favorite school memory. Class Valedictorian Rachel Taylor encouraged her classmates as they leave school to continue pursuing what they believe in. “There will be bridges we cross, some sturdy and some cracking and falling apart. You’re going to have to take a leap of faith, no matter how hard it might be” she said. Co-Salutatorian Jaci Cron said all of the difficulties they’ve handled in their senior year will prepare for them for the next stages of life. “We can overcome challenges because of the people we are and because of the people who have shaped us. We have to keep getting back up and keep moving forward,” she said.
