Hayden L. Robinson, 20, of 106 Main St., Quincy, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs as a result of a traffic stop about 10:50 p.m. Sunday in the village of Quincy.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office on patrol in the area reported observing a vehicle leave the gas station in the village and reportedly drove past a stop sign by the railroad tracks, but then came to a stop with the front portion of the vehicle on the tracks. The vehicle proceeded over the railroad tracks and then began to travel on the left side of the street.
A traffic stop was initiated in the area of Mill and Yost streets.
Deputies observed that the driver, Robinson, displayed signs of intoxication, and he admitted to consuming “a couple beers.”
He agreed with deputies that he was below the legal drinking age and submitted to field sobriety tests.
Deputies had observed Robinson’s passenger, Stephanie L. Hicks, 22, of Piqua, driving the vehicle in Quincy about 10 minutes before the traffic stop. She was issued a citation for driving under suspension.
Robinson was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail, where he tested 0.082 blood alcohol content.
He also was cited for driving on the left side of the road and for a stop sign violation.
• Dale R. Raun, 60, of Westerville, was charged with OVI during a traffic stop Saturday evening in the area of Cherokee Drive and State Route 235.
Deputies reportedly initiated the stop about 6:10 p.m. for a speed violation and for no front license plate. The vehicle reportedly pulled into the Clark gas station, 13365 N. State Route 235, and the driver exited the vehicle, walking toward the patrol car.
Deputies observed that he displayed signs of intoxication.
They asked him where he was heading on foot, and Raun stated he was going “home” and had been at a friend’s house watching the game.
He said he had consumed two alcoholic beverages and submitted to field sobriety tests. The defendant was transported to the jail, where he refused to take a breath test. He also was cited for speed and was released to a sober driver.
