Deputies, along with Huntsville EMS and BMRT EMS, responded about 12:40 p.m. Saturday to a four-vehicle chain reaction crash in Huntsville, but no one was transported from the scene.
Nicholas W. Coulter, 19, of West Mansfield, reportedly was operating a northbound sport utility vehicle on Lima Street near Fourth Street. He reportedly failed to maintain assured clear distance ahead and his SUV struck the rear of a northbound car in front of him operated by Zaireea Norman, 22, of Olmsted Township.
Norman’s car then struck a northbound car in front of her operated by Paige R. Dukowitz-Holt, 25, of Huntsville, and that vehicle struck the rear of northbound pickup operated by Michael T. Markiewicz, 30, of Belle Center.
Damage was heavy to the first two vehicles, moderate to the Dukowitz-Holt vehicle and light to the Markiewicz vehicle. The first three vehicles were towed from the scene.
Deputies report Coulter may have been distracted by something outside of his vehicle. He was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead. Each of the drivers were wearing their seat belts.
Summons issued for domestic violence
Sara A. Day, 34, of 12046 Shannon Drive, Lot 59, Lakeview, was issued a summons for domestic violence related to an incident early Saturday morning.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to her residence about 12:45 a.m. on a report of a domestic complaint.
Day told deputies she became upset when her husband would not give her cell phone and keys to her, so she punched him in the face. She said her husband then pushed her and struck her in the face. Deputies observed slight swelling around her left eye where she said her husband hit her.
Her husband told deputies about the same series of events and deputies observed that he had a small cut above his right eye and scratch marks on his neck. He said his wife had caused the injuries.
His wife agreed to leave the residence for the evening and was issued the summons.
