Tracey L. Blakeman, 65, of St. Paris, was transported by Riverside EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in a crash Sunday afternoon.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report Brianna T. Wilson, 26, of Sidney, was operating a westbound sport utility vehicle about 3:40 p.m. on State Route 47 and stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of State Route 235.
She then pulled into the path of a southbound motorcycle operated by Blakeman, causing him to brake and his motorcycle overturned and went off the southwest side of the intersection.
Blakemen did not report any injuries and was cited for failure to yield. Deputies said helmet use by Blakeman was unknown.
No damage was reported to the SUV and light damage was reported to the motorcycle.
• Adam Alnuaimi, 29, of Dublin, Ohio, was transported by Quincy EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in a crash Sunday morning.
Deputies report he was operating an eastbound car about 11:50 a.m. on S.R. 47. Austin R. Magoto, 21, of DeGraff, was operating a southbound car on Township Road 35 and failed to yield at the stop sign at S.R. 47, and his vehicle struck the rear driver’s side of Alnuaimi’s vehicle.
Magoto did not report any injuries and was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign. Damage was heavy to both cars, which were towed from the scene. The drivers were wearing their seat belts.
OVI-related crash reported
Cole L. Bader, 31, of Dayton, was transported by Macochee EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital Thursday for treatment of minor injuries in a crash related to impaired driving, deputies said.
Deputies report he was operating a southbound car on U.S. Route 68 near Township Road 199 about 11:30 p.m. when he traveled off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole and then continued into a wooded area, where the vehicle came to rest.
Damage was heavy to the car, which was towed from the scene. The Logan County Electric Cooperative also responded to remove the downed power lines.
When deputies arrived at the scene, the driver was being treated by EMS personnel, so deputies followed up with him at the Mary Rutan Hospital emergency room. While speaking with Bader, deputies said his speech was slurred and he show signs of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. He told deputies he had not consumed alcohol or drugs.
The defendant agreed to submit to a urine sample, but deputies said he kept falling asleep and was unable to produce a sample.
He was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and was cited for driving under a non-compliance suspension, failure to control and fictitious plates.
Woman charged with making false alarms
Jamie M. Sheppard, 37, of 2015 E. State Route 47, Bellefontaine, was charged with making false alarms related to an incident Friday.
Deputies were dispatched to 11138 Cherokee Path, Lakeview, on a report that Sheppard had called the emergency 911 line 18 times to demand that her boyfriend be released from jail and his property to be delivered to her by a deputy.
Her boyfriend, Derrik Trahan, had been arrested for domestic violence earlier that morning after deputies responded to the Cherokee Path residence about 2:10 a.m., as previously reported in the Examiner.
Dispatchers had warned Sheppard that if she did not stop calling the 911 line for a non-emergency reason, she risked arrest.
She reportedly called 911 a 19th time while deputies were en route to her residence.
When deputies arrived, they noticed that she showed signs of intoxication. Sheppard was placed under arrest and lodged in the jail.
