Bradley A. Rogan, 33, at large, was charged Sunday with vandalism, criminal damaging, public intoxication, resisting arrest and persistent disorderly conduct.
Around 2:45 a.m., residents in the 500 block of east Columbus Avenue reported a man in a white T-shirt was attempting to break into a parked vehicle. Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department found damage to both driver’s side windows and a rear window on the vehicle. Blood was found on the windows and driver’s door handle.
The suspect was stopped nearby and taken into custody.
While en route to the Logan County Jail, Rogan acted as if he had placed something in mouth and told the officer he ingested fentanyl. The officer pulled into a parking lot and requested other officers and a Bellefontaine squad to respond.
He then said he was lying about the drugs so officers closed the doors of the cruiser until a squad arrived.
Rogan began kicking at the interior of the cruiser causing significant damage to a door.
He was removed from the cruiser and placed in leg restraints. He also was transported by an officer to Mary Rutan Hospital for evaluation.
There, he continued to be resist officers and staff. He began to yell and refused to stop.
Upon release, he was uncooperative and fought efforts to put leg restraints on him and place him in a cruiser.
He also threatened to harm officers.
A Logan County Sheriff’s deputy arrived on scene with the department’s inmate transport van. Rogan was placed inside and transported to jail.
• Adam R. Suever, 43, of 537 W. Auburn Ave., was charged Saturday with menacing, resisting arrest and persistent disorderly conduct.
Officers encountered Suever outside his recently deceased uncle’s south Detroit Street home. He was demanding to see his uncle, ignoring repeated officers instruction that he would have to wait until after the Logan County Coroner’s Office representative arrived and completed their work.
He became very agitated and went after an officer, who drew his taser. Another officer grabbed onto Suever and took him to the ground. He was handcuffed and escorted to a cruiser.
While officers walked him to the cruiser, he attempted to kick one. He forcibly placed in the cruiser for transport to the jail.
Inside the cruiser, he began to slam his forehead into the center divider, causing visible injuries to himself.
He claimed at various times he had AIDS, COVID-19 and Hepatitis C.
Once at the jail, he was placed in a restraint chair.
Traffic stop results in paraphernalia charge
Kodey R. Triplett, 20, of 1108 Heritage Court, was charged Saturday with possession of drug paraphernalia and cited for no operator’s license after a 9 p.m traffic stop for extremely dark window tint on Columbus Avenue near West Street.
A pipe commonly used for abusing methamphetamine was found in the sport utility vehicle along with a digital scales that had white residue on it.
Man served summons for domestic violence
Dean Free Craig, 45, of 500 Gunntown Road, Apt. H2, was charged Sunday with domestic violence. He told officers he arrived home around 8:30 a.m. after a night of partying and found the apartment destroyed by his girlfriend.
He admitting pushing her when she attempted to rip a large television from its wall mount.
Cassandra Smith, however, told officers the defendant punched her in the face. A witness confirmed her account, but neither Smith nor the witness provided a written statement.
Officers did not report any corroborating evidence to support Craig’s claims regarding the apartment damage.
Man charged with intoxication
Danny L. Ellis, 49, at large, was charged public intoxication Friday after he was found passed out near Blue Jacket Park around 4:20 p.m.
Woman faces animal cruelty charge
Deanna J. Taylor, 29, of 540 S. Detroit St., was charged Saturday with animal cruelty. She admitted leaving two rabbits in a cage on the unshaded back porch.
The rabbits died as they had no shelter and no water.
