A representative from IEG Plastics speaks to Benjamin Logan High School students Tuesday during a tour of the facility, where pupils about the design and manufacturing process of plastics. They also observed the company’s automated production equipment. The robotics club and computer software class also toured two other local businesses to learn about manufacturing processes. At HBD/Thermoid, they observed the production of hoses from raw materials to the finished product. Finally, students toured the fabrication and assembly areas of PowerBuilt, meeting with technicians to observe technology such as powder coating, CNC milling, welding and water cutting.
