Jason S. Warner, 31, of 405 E. Chillicothe Ave., was charged today with discharging a firearm in the city limits, using weapons while intoxicated and intimidation of a public servant.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department responded to the residence around 1:55 a.m. and met with the suspect and his girlfriend, Susan Carnahan. Both were intoxicated from drinking alcohol.
They had been arguing most of the night and he allegedly threatened to kill himself.
Carnahan emptied two 9 mm pistols, but just after midnight, Warner retrieved one, took it outside and discharged a single round into a neighboring yard.
The pistols, along with a shotgun, four .22-caliber rifles and a 5.56 mm rifle were taken from the residence for safekeeping, along with ammunition.
Officers report Warner claimed to have a martial arts black belt after he was taken into custody.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
