Kyle Cooper, 28, of 11494 Parker Drive, Belle Center, was charged with domestic violence and unlawful restraint Friday related to a incidents at his residence.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched about 2:50 p.m. Friday to his address on a report that he was being violent toward his mother.
When deputies arrived at the residence, his mother informed them that starting Thursday, her son had been asking her for money so he could buy drugs. When she refused and attempted to leave the residence, she said he held a sliding glass door shut so she couldn’t leave and also took her phone.
She said during another instance when she tried to leave the home, Cooper reportedly took a pair of scissors and stabbed himself in the neck.
While deputies were on scene, the defendant was located in a closet under a pile of multiple blankets. He was ordered out of the closet and was placed under arrest. He was lodged in the Logan County Jail and also was charged with a probation violation.
Driver swerves to miss deer, strikes tree
Colton Dennis, 18, of Kenton, did not report any injuries after a crash Saturday morning on County Road 125.
Deputies report he was operating a northbound 2013 Honda Civic about 6:50 a.m. about a mile north of State Route 47 when he swerved to miss a deer in the road. He then went off the left side of the road, striking a tree.
Damage was heavy to the car, which was towed from the scene. No citations were listed with the crash report.
