Heaven gained a beautiful soul as Lura Beverly Fogt, 86, of Lakeview, went to be with Jesus early Tuesday morning, May 16, 2017, at Lima Memorial Health System.
Beverly was born June 20, 1930, in Auglaize County to the late Erhard and Dolores Black Endres. On Sept. 16, 1950, she married Gorman Dwight Fogt in Wapakoneta and he preceded her in death.
Beverly will be missed by not only her five children, Gregory Wayne (Peggy) Fogt, Tami Jo Fogt and David Gorman (Roxy) Fogt, all of Lakeview, Connie LuAnn (Don) Powell of Bellefontaine and Larry Alan (Beverly) Fogt of Wapakoneta, but also her six grandchildren, Jason, Ryan, Justin and Travis Fogt, Alison Beougher and Bradley Powell; five great-grandchildren, Logan, Anna, Abigail, Elijah and Millie; and all who knew and loved her.
Beverly was 1948 class valedictorian of New Knoxville High School and attended Capital University for two years taking secretarial courses. She worked for Yale Brothers Printers for more than 20 years as head of the order department, purchasing and inventory. A member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Botkins, she was a Sunday school teacher, secretary of church council, a member of St. Paul WELCA and the Waynesfield Band Boosters. Beverly enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family, hosting the annual 4th of July picnic since 1951.
Pastor Charla Grieves begins funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday, May 19, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 301 E. State St., Botkins. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial is in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
Contributions may be given in her name to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
