Logan County-area bars and restaurants began scrambling Sunday afternoon to make decisions whether or not to continue limited operations in the wake of Gov. Mike DeWine’s mandatory closure of inperson dining to help combat the COVID-19 coronavirus.
Indian Lake Rollarena and TP Lanes each announced Sunday that they have forced to shutdown as part of the ban on mass gatherings.
American Legion Harold Kerr Post #173, Bellefontaine, is closed, “until further notice.” Dozens of local restaurants announced plans to stay open and to continue take-out options for the duration of the ban. The Indian Lake Chamber of Commerce was soliciting hours of operation and to-go menus from businesses to help drive carryout business.
Restaurants are actively advertising their to-go business, and expanding services to help boost sales during the shutdown.
Liberty Gathering Place in West Liberty is adding a delivery option to its carryout availability. Ron’s Pizza of DeGraff announced Sunday plans to offer delivery services every night of the week. Also, for carry-out customers, store employees will deliver food to customers at their vehicle in an effort to limit physical contact as much as possible. Ron’s Pizza of Bellefontaine is testing a new breakfast pizza menu that will be available from 8 to 11 a.m.
“We are looking for clarification on items like selfserve coffee bars in convenience stores, gas stations, etc.,” the Logan County Health District reported.
