Officers of the Logan County Joint Drug Task Force, assisted by road deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, arrested two Lima area men Thursday evening following a drug bust at the Huntsville Marathon gas station, 6990 State Route 117, Huntsville.
Markese L. Brown, 24, was charged with trafficking in cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, and possession of crack cocaine, a second-degree felony, after authorities intercepted a drug transaction in process at the gas station about 7:30 p.m.
A passenger in his vehicle, Dametrious D. Brown, 19, was charged with complicity to drug trafficking, a fifth-degree felony.
Task Force members had been investigating reports that Markese had been transporting crack cocaine from Lima into Logan County, Logan County Sheriff Randall J. Dodds said Friday.
During the Thursday evening bust, authorities recovered $620 cash and crack cocaine from Markese’s person. They also recovered $176 cash during a search of Dametrious.

Markese and Dametrious were lodged in the Logan County Jail.
In December, Markese also was charged by Bellefontaine Police Department officers with possession of cocaine following a traffic stop on south Main Street. He was stopped for driving under suspension and having a fictitious registration and a search of the vehicle turned up a small quantity of cocaine, as previously reported in the Examiner.
