A local church plant is launching its debut service this Sunday after gearing up for this step since late last year, and during the same service, its members also are hoping to help curb child hunger in the local community.
The Common Ground Church will meet at 10 a.m. Sundays in the auditorium at Union Station, located at 613 Hamilton St., Bellefontaine.
This Sunday features a “Fill a Seat, Feed a Child” initiative, where the church will donate the cost of one meal for each person who attends to benefit a local child in need. Specifically, the funds will support the summer food program offered by the United Way of Logan County at the local Neighborhood Outreach Centers.
“All you have to do is show up, and a hungry kid will be fed. It’s a win-win,” Lead Pastor Brandon Storm of Zanesfield said this week. “Bring your whole family so we can really support lots of kids who need our help.
“We’re looking for ways to serve our community, and this seemed to fit in well with that. Our core group of members also has been busy serving at Our Daily Bread here lately as well.”
