Indian Lake’s girls basketball team came up short in its regular-season finale Thursday as it fell 52-48 to visiting Graham in Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division action.
The Lakers finish the regular season 3-19 overall and 3-7 in the Mad River division, while the Falcons improve to 6-13, 4-6.
“It was great to see so much community support of our team on senior night,” said IL girls head coach Nick Tucci. “The girls came out early with a lot of energy and I know the great crowd had a lot to do with that.
“Unfortunately, we came up short, but it was not due to the lack of effort. Graham was able to convert on their free-throw chances late in the game and that played a huge part in their victory.”
Indian Lake trailed 12-7 after one quarter, but used a 13-6 run in the second quarter to take a 20-18 lead into halftime.
The Lakers led 38-37 after three quarters, but the Falcons outscored the hosts 15-10 in the final quarter to grab the win.
Caylee Wurster led the Lakers with 14 points, Katelyn Hogan had 10 points and Jenni Kaffenbarger tallied nine points.
There was no junior varsity game.
Indian Lake is back on the court Wednesday, Feb. 17, for tournament action.
