Bellefontaine’s girls bowling team held on for a 2,320-2,217 win over host Tecumseh on Wednesday in Central Buckeye Conference action. The Arrows defeated the Chieftains 2,775-2,418 in the boys match.
“This match was close,” said BHS head coach Jane Kline. “We were up by 72 pins going into the baker. It was a great win for our girls. They really worked well as a team to win this match tonight.
“They had some hard shots and there was a lot more oil on the lanes, which is something we are not used to, but the girls bowled their best baker and supported each other and came out with a win.”
Carissa Devine powered the Chieftain girls with games of 180 and 191 for a 371 series, Hannah Davis had a game of 169 and a 321 series and Haley Watkins rolled a game of 155 and a 308 series.
For the Bellefontaine boys, Kyle Southard led the way with a game of 211 and a 389 series, Noah Jackson had a game of 196 and a 377 series, Anthony Tolliver had a game of 194 and Robby Weikart had a game of 191.
Bellefontaine’s girls won the junior varsity match 1,748-1,290. Lauren Heminger had games of 162 and 151 for a 313 series and Julie Downing added a game of 154.
Raiders win tri-match
Benjamin Logan’s boys bowling team topped Indian Lake and Riverside Wednesday night in a local tri-match at T-P Lanes in Bellefontaine.
The Raiders won with 2,640 pins, the Lakers were second with 2,324 and the Pirates shot a 2,213. The Raiders also won the girls match 1,954-1,601 over the Pirates.
Logan Woolley led the Ben Logan boys with games of 277 and 175 for a 452 series, Logan Wenger rolled a 432 series, Tyler Nichols had a 379 series, Colton Jones rolled a game of 191 and Mitchell Johnson had a game of 161.
For the Raider girls, Jenna Peyton had a game of 232, Makayla Cayot had a game of 170 and Tayler Bryant had a game of 151.
Riverside’s boys saw Tylor Eaton roll a game of 190 and a 341 series, while Nick Smith added a game of 185 and a 338 series.
Keysha Wray led the Pirate girls with a game of 153 and a 270 series and Laraleigh Kerns had a 242 series.
Ben Logan’s boys beat Riverside in a junior varsity match. Hunter Russell led the Pirates with a game of 134 and a 248 series and Casey Allen had a game of 129.
