Karl H. Hostetler, 81, of West Liberty, passed away at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, at Green Hills Care Center in West Liberty.
He was born in Champaign County, on Nov. 6, 1934, to the late Marion Herman and Imo Christine Hoffman Hostetler. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Pyle; and five brothers, Roger, Robert, Joe, Russell and Charles Hostetler.
On Nov. 7, 1953, he married the former Suzanne Snyder and she survives, along with their three children, Annette Pilote of Tennessee, Jeffrey (Tammy) Hostetler of Arizona, and Chris Hostetler of Virginia; and a sister, Clarabel Plank of West Liberty.
A member of the United Church of Christ in West Liberty, Karl worked as a Sales Manager for Graham Chevrolet in Bellefontaine and National Salt Water in West Liberty. He was active in Bible study at Marion Correctional Institute as well as Kairos Prison Ministry, where he received the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2004. He also served as a trustee on the West Liberty Fairview Cemetery Board. Karl was an avid welder and enjoyed restoring antique farm machinery and gardening.

The Rev. Paul E. Forrey officiates a funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the United Church of Christ, 212 Newell St., West Liberty. Burial is in West Liberty Fairview Cemetery.
