James M. Large Sr., 71, of Kenton, died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, at his residence.
He was born June 18, 1945, in Marion to the late Frank and Gladys Johnson Large. On Nov. 23, 1963, he married Rosemary Lyon and she survives in Kenton.
Also surviving are a daughter; Betty “Crickett” Breece of Findlay; a son, James Large Jr. of Kenton; two sisters, Jane (Dave) Horn of West Mansfield and Terry (Paul) Segner of Broadway; two brothers, Ron (Nancy) Large of Marion and Gerald (Becky) Neill of West Mansfield; four grandchildren; Lakota Breece of Kenton, Brandon Breece and Nikki Breece, both of Marion, and R.C. Breece of Columbus; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rose Ann Large, and a granddaughter, Abby Lowrance.
James was a member of the West Mansfield Lions Club, president of the Railroad Union while he worked for the railroad, and a past member of the Gideons.
James started Larges Exhaust in 1974 in West Mansfield and then opened a shop in Kenton in 1990 where he worked until he retired.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with his grandson, Lakota.
A memorial service will be at a later date. It was his wishes to be cremated. Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton.
