Addie L. Rodenberger, 17, of rural Bellefontaine, and Tara L. Rhodes, 42, of rural Zanesfield, each was transported by Tri-Valley squad to Mary Rutan Hospital for non-incapacitating injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash about 8:20 a.m. Friday.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report Ms. Rhodes was operating a southbound minivan on State Route 533 when she attempted to make a left turn onto Township Road 127 and drove into the path of a northbound car operated by Addie. The car then struck the minivan, causing heavy damage to both vehicles.
Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, deputies report. Ms. Rhodes was cited for failure to yield.
OVI physical control charge issued
Michael T. Scott, 40, of 53 N. County Road 24, DeGraff, was charged with having physical control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs following an incident Saturday evening.
Deputies received a report about 5:20 p.m. of an unresponsive man who was slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle that was parked in a driveway at 168 County Road 21, DeGraff.
When deputies and Riverside EMS personnel arrived at the scene, they observed that Mr. Scott had been asleep. The vehicle’s engine was running, and several empty beer cans were found in the vehicle.
After waking up the defendant, deputies observed that he displayed signs of intoxication. He was transported to the Logan County Jail, where he refused to take a urine test.
Husband charged with domestic violence
Thomas D. Erdy, 46, of 10890 Township Road 141, East Liberty, was charged with domestic violence following an incident Sunday afternoon.
His wife, Gloria, 47, reportedly stopped at the sheriff’s office about 1:45 p.m. to report an altercation with Mr. Erdy.
She reported to deputies that during the argument, she was thrown down by her husband. She then left the residence in her vehicle.
Deputies observed visible injuries to her hand and foot. They went to the couple’s residence, and after speaking with Mr. Erdy, he was placed under arrest and transported to the jail.
