Santa showed up on the shores of Indian Lake just before a parade of boats illuminated the dark waters with an array of Christmas lights.

The inaugural Christmas in July event kicked off about 8 o’clock Saturday as Santa arrived at Old Field Beach and passed out candy canes, suckers and glow sticks to nearly 200 children.
Meanwhile, about 20 boats decked out with a variety of lights, inflatable Santas and other decorations assembled at Fawn Island as the sun set over the lake.
The Light Up the Lake boat parade traveled by Old Field Beach where judges Robin Reames, Joe Freyhof and Rosie O’Boyle viewed the boats as they made their way toward Lakeview Harbor and ended near Paradise Island.
