Chiefs snap losing skid, rout Falcons on Senior Night

Bellefontaine wrapped up an up-and-down regular season on a high note Friday night.
The Chiefs snapped up a five-game losing streak by routing visiting Graham 79-61 on Senior Night at BHS.
Bellefontaine closed the regular season with a 10-12 overall record an a 7-6 mark in the Central Buckeye Conference.
“This was big for us,” said Bellefontaine senior guard Nicklaus Lyons, who scored a career-high 22 points in his final home contest. “We hope this helps get us on a run in the tournament. Our defense played very well and we moved the ball on offense and found open shooters.”
Lakers finish regular season with win over Warriors
Indian Lake’s boys basketball team bounced visiting Northwestern 72-61 on Friday in the regular-season finale.
The Lakers finish the regular season at 10-12 overall and 6-7 in the Central Buckeye Conference standings.
The Warriors fall to 4-18, 0-13. Indian Lake’s offense got off to a hot start in the first quarter as the Lakers jumped out to a 22-12 lead.
West Jeff derails Triad to earn share of OHC North title
Triad 63-52 on Friday to earn a share of the Ohio Heritage Conference North division boys basketball championship.
The Roughriders are now 15-7 overall and 12-4 in the OHC.
They share the title with West Liberty-Salem, which defeated Mechanicsburg 72-49 on Friday.
The Cardinals finished the regular season at 15-7, 11-5.
Upper Scioto Valley pulls away to beat Riverside 63-50
Riverside’s boys basketball team put up a fight Friday, but visiting Upper Scioto Valley was able to pull away in the fourth quarter for a 60-53 Northwest Central Conference win.
The Pirates fall to 8-12 overall and finish 3-5 in the NWCC. The Rams are now 16-5 and finished second in the league at 7-1.
“This was a tough battle for us,” said RHS head coach Seth Bodenmiller. “I was proud of the effort our guys gave. We just had a couple of three-minute lulls where we couldn’t get into our offense and their defense forced a lot of turnovers.”
Hillclimbers outlast Raider boys 50-49 in overtime
Urbana’s boys basketball team pulled out a 50-49 overtime win over host Benjamin Logan on Friday in the final regular-season game for the Raiders.
The Raiders finish the regular season at 7-15 overall and 3-10 in the CBC, while the Hillclimbers improve to 15-7, 9- 4.
Ben Logan led 11-9 after the opening quarter, but Urbana came back with a 17-11 run in the second quarter.
That burst gave the Hillclimbers a 26-22 lead at halftime.
