The season came to an end for the Bellefontaine girls basketball team Saturday with a 59-26 loss to Carroll in the first round of the Division II sectional tournament at Tecumseh.
The fourth-seeded Patriots advance to play sixth-seeded Greenville on Wednesday in a semifinal game.
The Chieftains finish the season with a 6-17 record. Carroll jumped out to a 21-7 lead after the first quarter.
The Patriots extended their lead with a 14-4 run in the second quarter for a 35-11 lead at the break.
The second half saw Carroll continue to dominate by outscoring Bellefontaine 24-15 over the final two quarters.
Emily Mitchell and Hannah Rader led the Chieftains with eight points apiece and Chalony Tolliver added five points.
