Hilda F. Heaberlin, 87, of Bellefontaine, passed away Saturday evening, March 25, 2017, at the Kobacker House, Columbus.
Hilda was born on Jan. 24, 1930, in Kitts Hill to the late Ogle and Grace McKenzie Jenkins. On July 3, 1948, she married Louis Heaberlin Jr. and he preceded her in death on April 12, 1987. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Fern Kolenburg, Eloise Taylor and Jean Bowman; and three brothers, Ronnie Jenkins, Robert Jenkins and Earl Jenkins.
She is survived by five children, Donna (James) Giles of Marion, Paula (Steve) Norviel of Huntsville, Raymond (Arvella) Heaberlin of Urbana and Dave Heaberlin and Darrell (Sharon) Heaberlin, both of DeGraff; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margie Lucas of Ironton and Sharon (Paul) Vest of Perrysburg; two brothers, Ballard Jenkins of Toledo and Gary Jenkins of Ironton; and several nieces and nephews.
Hilda was a private caregiver for the elderly, working until she was 73. She was a member of Living Water Apostolic Church, Kenton. She enjoyed sewing, making things with her hands, planting flowers and playing cards.
Funeral services begin at noon Thursday, March 30, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview, where visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 29. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.
Contributions may be given in her name to a hospice of the donor’s choice.
