No injuries were reported in a crash involving a semi tractor-trailer and a pickup about 12:45 a.m. Thursday on U.S. Route 33 just east of County Road 10.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report Ryan McCafferty, 18, of Bellefontaine, was operating a westbound pickup in the right lane of U.S. 33 when he lost control and struck the westbound semi in the left lane.
The pickup then went off the left side of the road and came to a rest in the median. The semi, operated by Mantrice Lang, 48, of Phoenix, went off the right side of the road and into the ditch.
Damage was heavy to both vehicles, and both drivers were wearing their seat belts. Mr. McCafferty was cited for failure to control.
• John E. Manning, 59, of DeGraff did not report any injuries after his westbound minivan struck a deer on County Road 29 just east of Township Road 151 about 1 a.m. today. Damage was moderate to the minivan.
• Jayde E. Anderson, 19, of Bellefontaine, did not report any injuries after her eastbound car struck a deer on State Route 540 just east of Sloan Boulevard about 9:40 p.m. Thursday. Damage was heavy to the car.
