On April 14, 2017, Dorothy Ann Branscom Mikulski, 64, died in the home in which members of her family had dwelt for 100 years. She had been in declining health in recent years.
Dorothy Ann was born in El Reno, Okla., on Nov. 7, 1952. In 1957, she moved with her family to Bellefontaine and graduated second in the Bellefontaine High School Class of 1971.
After attending Ohio State University, she married Zdzislaw Mikulski on Feb. 12, 1978, and they spent several years cultivating a small farm in Morrow County before moving to Washington, D.C., where Zdzislaw was employed by the Voice of America. Upon his retirement in 1995, they moved to Bellefontaine where they took up residence in the old family homestead along Spring Ave.
Besides her husband, survivors include her brothers, Jim, Joe, and Andy Branscom; her niece, Ruby Branscomb; stepson, Marek Mikulski, stepdaughter, Eve Keeffe; and granddaughter, Mia Keeffe.
