Donald Joseph Fischer, 90, of Lakeview, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018, at The Sanctuary at Tuttle Crossing, Dublin.
Donald was born Feb. 12, 1928, in Dayton, a son of the late Aloysius and Dorothy Krammer Fischer.
On Sept. 15, 1951, he married Edith “Edie” Miller at Our Lady of the Rosary in Dayton, and she preceded him in death April 27, 2012.
He is survived by two daughters, Dona Fischer of Lakeview and Judith (Christopher) Lang of Columbus; three grandchildren, Matthew (Lynsi) Lang, Michael Lang and Donald (Erin) Lang; a great-grandson, Joseph Lang; a sister, Phyllis White of Russells Point; and two brothers, Paul (Dolores) Fischer of Kettering and Vernon “Kick” (Marjorie) Fischer of Dayton.
Don was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Russells Point and Knights of Columbus. He was a 1946 graduate of Kiser High School in Dayton and earned his bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Dayton.
Don was a United States Army veteran serving in Korea. He worked for NCR in Dayton and later retired from Hobart Industries. Don enjoyed basketball, football and baseball, fishing and being at
Indian Lake. He loved being with his family and playing with his grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial begins at noon, Friday, June 1, at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., Kettering, where visitation begins at 10:30 a.m. Burial is in Dayton Calvary Cemetery.
