Dozens of high school students from Indian Lake, Riverside and Benjamin Logan were officially inducted into the National Honor Society during a ceremony at Benjamin Logan High School Tuesday evening. Midwest Regional Educational Service Center Superintendent Scott Howell began the event with praise for these accomplished students and their parents. After speeches from candidates for the county offices, each new student was inducted by lighting the candle signifying the pillars of NHS–character, leadership, scholarship and service. Then the new officers were revealed. They are: President Sam Knight from Riverside, Vice President Sierra DeWeese from Indian Lake and Secretary Isaac Napier from Ben Logan. The inductees were “tapped” in separate ceremonies at their own school earlier this year, after completing an application process. (MIDWEST REGIONAL ESC PHOTO)
