Each of the Logan County high schools this week are hosting Enlistment Week, with recruiters visiting from the United States Air Force, United States Army, United States Army National Guard, United States Coast Guard, United States Marines and the United States Navy.
This event is a made possible by the Logan County Collaborative and is coordinated by Karen Sorreles, Midwest Regional Educational Service Center and the Logan County schools.
“It is no coincidence that this is being held the same week as Veterans Day, the legal holiday in the U.S. to honor the veterans of the armed forces,” organizers said. “This is an opportunity for the students to explore Enlistment, one of the 3E options they will face after graduation.”
At Benjamin Logan High School Tuesday, senior Erik Hoffer displayed his intention of enlisting in the Army as part of the 3E initiative in which every senior makes a decision to be employed, enlisted or enrolled by the end of the school year.
College Day was earlier this year and explored enrollment, and the Career Expo in March will have opportunities for employment.
Enlistment Day also was offered at Riverside Schools on Monday, Bellefontaine Schools on Wednesday, Indian Lake Schools on Thursday and at the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center today.
