The sixth-seeded Chiefs, who moved up to the big division after being a longtime Division II member, are now 20-8 and advance to play fifth-seeded Centerville at 5 p.m. today in Centerville.
Cole Braun went the distance on the mound for the Chiefs. He turned in a strong outing, scattering five hits while striking out 10 and walking two. He did not allow an earned run.
“We had some good pitching by Cole, good defense, timely hits and were able to put the pressure on their defense and pitchers,” said Bellefontaine head coach Art Caudill.
