Bellefontaine scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to rally for a 6-5 victory over host Benjamin Logan in a Central Buckeye Conference baseball game Friday.
The Chiefs are now 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the CBC. The Raiders fall to 0-5, 0-3.
Ben Logan jumped out to a 4-1 lead after two innings. Bellefontaine tied the game at 4-4 with three runs in the third inning. Ben Logan scored a run in the bottom of the sixth to go ahead 5-4. However, the Chiefs answered with two runs in the top of the seventh and they held the Raiders scoreless in the bottom of the seventh to get the win.
Chris Fogan pitched five innings of relief to get the win on the mound for BHS. He allowed two hits and one run while striking out seven and walking two. Jose Sandoval went 2-3 to lead Bellefontaine’s offense. Bellefontaine took advantage of nine walks and also stole eight bases.
For the Raiders, EJ Martin went 2-4 with two RBI and Wyatt Blackburn, Cayden Brown and Keaton Horney each had
an RBI.
The Chiefs also defeated Triad on Saturday, 17-2 in five innings.
Ben Logan is back in action Tuesday at Springfield Shawnee.
