Charles J. Liston Jr., 72, of Piqua, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior at 3:54 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Miami Valley Hospital.
He was born Feb. 9, 1944, in Bellefontaine, to the late Charles J. Sr. and Alice I. Pash Liston. He also was preceded in death by a son, Jody M. Liston.
He married the former Barbara Y. Brown in Jellico, Tenn., on Feb. 14, 1984, and she survives, along with three sons, Charles J. (Laarni) Liston III of Las Vegas, Harley Jeffery (Kathie) Weldy of Covington and Brad Y. (Kathie) Weldy of Sidney; one daughter, Tami Duty of Sidney; eight grandchildren, Kristi Liston, Nick (Becky) Weldy, Stacy Hoying, Michael (Kim) Weldy, Travis (Jamie) Weldy, Jennie Crisp, Amy (Ryan) Chitwood and Mike (Mandy) Forsythe; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Suzanne (Steve) Morris of Lakeview and Cindy (Dave) Herndon and Judy Liston, both of Jackson Center; and several nieces and nephews.
Charles worked in set up and as a group leader for the Copeland Corporation, retiring in 2005 after 43 years. He was a member of the Sidney Eagles and was formerly an auxiliary deputy for Shelby County.
Visitation is two hours prior to a service at noon Monday June 20, at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home, Piqua, with Pastor Andy Monnin officiating. Burial follows at Forest Hill Cemetery.
