A 13-year-old Bellefontaine Middle School boy sustained facial injuries after he lost consciousness while playing a choking game Tuesday in the school gymnasium.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report the school took disciplinary action and suspended one student.
The victim was receiving treatment in the emergency room of Mary Rutan Hospital and its staff notified police of the injuries as part of its mandated reporting requirements.
An officer met with the victim and his mother.
No other information was provided and the investigation continues.
Felony domestic charge filed

Robert W. Keene Jr., 22, of Dayton, was charged Tuesday with felony domestic violence.
Around 12:25 p.m., he was located walking with the victim Carlee L. Jones, also of Dayton, in the area of 1100 Heritage Court.
She had visible signs of physical abuse on her face and neck and fresh blood on her right cheek. When asked what happened, she responded several times, “He didn’t mean it.”
The victim finally told officers he slapped her after she didn’t hold a door open for him.
A records check shows the suspect has prior convictions for domestic violence.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
• Ja Shawn L. Clayborne, 23, of Toledo, was served Tuesday with a warrant for theft.
Teen reported missing
Austin J. Allen, 17, of 310 Water Ave., was reported missing Tuesday after he left his home around 4 p.m. Anyone with information on the teen can call the police department at 599-1010.
