Driver charged with OVI
Courtney L. Gorenflo, 22, of 11965 State Route 117, Belle Center, was charged Saturday with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and was cited for failure to drive in the marked lanes of the road, failure to control and speeding.
Around 1:20 a.m., an officer on patrol observed her drive a northbound car on Main Street at Auburn Avenue. A radar check indicated she was traveling 34 mph in a 25-mph zone.
The officer followed the car and observed it travel over a curb at the intersection of Main and Chillicothe Avenue; abruptly stop at Columbus Avenue; rapidly accelerate from the intersection; straddle a white stripe separating the through lane and turn lane at Sandusky Avenue; and then make a wide turn onto westbound Sandusky before the traffic stop was initiated.
She stumbled and nearly fell forward when exiting the car. She declined to take field sobriety tests and was placed in cruiser only to be removed twice so she could vomit.
She continued to vomit at the police department and passed out while waiting to provide a breathe sample. Her result was 0.173.
