The Bellefontaine High School “A” Team won top honors for the second straight year Wednesday night at the American Association of University Women’s 25th annual trivia bee at Ohio Hi-Point Career Center.
The winners beat out 24 other teams by correctly answering 90 out of 100 questions.
BHS “A” Team members are Jim Robinson, Bill Badenhop, Richard Kurtz, Mike Vetorino, and Steve Henry.
Trivia questions concerning singer Taylor Swift hurt the “A” Team’s score a little, team members noted.
BHS Black Team and Logan County Common Pleas Court Team — each with 82 correct answers — tied for second place.
The AAUW-sponsored event supports Logan County teachers by funding a $1,000 annual grant via the Logan County Education Foundation.
Last year’s grant recipient was Benjamin Logan art teacher Jennifer Davis. She used the funds to work with students to add to a mosaic project at the school.
Proceeds from the bee also provide scholarships for up to two Logan County middle school girls to attend a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) camp.
