Beverly J. Weiskittle, 77, of Quincy, passed away at 6:33 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, at Fair Haven Shelby County Home in Sidney. She was born in Bloomfield Township on Jan. 26, 1940, to the late Byron and Helen Margaret Knief McGowan.
On May 28, 1960, Beverly married Thomas Weiskittle, and he survives along with their three children, Keith (Dianne) Weiskittle, Kristi (Skip) Oliver, and Karen (Blaine) Guthrie; nine grandchildren, Rachel Weiskittle, Grace (Matthew) Wilkinson, Gabriel Weiskittle, Braedan Oliver, Brogan (Alexis) Oliver, Bailey Oliver, Kaitlyn (Jeremy) Bailey, Kelsey Guthrie and Kole (Kendrah) Guthrie; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Eileen Lotz; a brother, Max McGowan; and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her sister, Eloise Siebeneck.
A homemaker, Bev was a member of the Quincy United Methodist Church and choir for 57 years and will be fondly remembered as a featured soloist. She had also worked at Hi-Grade Oil Company, served as the Election Board clerk, Quincy Water Board clerk and was the Quincy community reporter for both the Sidney Daily News and Bellefontaine Examiner.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at the Quincy United Methodist Church, 111 South St., Quincy. Pastor Jerry Lewis officiates a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at the church, where calling is an hour prior to the service. Burial follows in Fairview Cemetery, Quincy.
