The Bellefontaine businessman and CEO of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce defeated Dan Defibaugh, a Lakeview firefighter and retired school buildings and grounds supervisor, to earn the GOP nomination for a Logan County Commissioner seat being vacated by Commissioner Dustin Wickersham.
The unofficial vote tally in the race was 3,438-1,872.
Benedetti will move on to the general election in November to face Belle Center Mayor Teresa Johnston, who earned 844 complimentary votes from local Democrats.
