Barbara J. King, 81, of DeGraff, passed away at 4:54 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2018, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
She was born in Urbana on June 19, 1936, to the late Robert Levi and Pauline Sellers King. Barbara was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Tracy; granddaughter, Cari Shaffner; great-grandchild, Nevaeh Breneman; sister and brother-in-law, Mable and Floyd Predmore; brother, Richard King; brother-in-law, Thomas Cooksey; beloved dog, Minnie Moo; and beloved cat, BooBoo.
Barbara is survived by her children and “adopted” children, Connie (Jim) Clevenger of DeGraff, Sherrie (John) McKenzie of Bethel Island, Calif., Dave (Randi) Downing Jr. of DeGraff, and Dan (Liz) Hager of DeGraff, Ryan (Tessca) Hites of Bellefontaine and Lisa Rogers o Harper; grandchildren, Robert, Jeremy, Cole, Anna, Mary, Samantha, Traysa, Trestin, Kyra, Caydence, Alexis, Ryan, Kevin, Nathan, Noah, Sara, and Nattie; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rita (Ronnie) Wolford of Mechanicsburg and Marge Cooksey of West Liberty; brother, Robert Levi (Stephanie) King of Nevada; and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family, especially all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed word searches and “scratch off” tickets. Barbara was a huge fan of Elvis and Vic’s Country Cookin’. All who knew Barbara will miss her.
A funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 31, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 101 Zanesfield Road, West Liberty. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 31, at the funeral home. Burial will be in at a later date in Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty.
