Audrey L. Kipker Schearer, 99, of rural Huntsville, died Thursday morning, March 11, 2021, at OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, after a three-week illness.
Audrey was born on Feb. 12, 1922 in Roundhead, a daughter of the late Lon and Anna McGinnis Kipker. On Nov. 30, 1940, she married Evans T. Schearer and he preceded her in death.
She is also preceded in death by a son, John Schearer, son-in-law, Joe Dow, a grandson, Roy Schearer, Jr., two angel great grandbabies, five siblings, Martha Williams, Thurman, Huitt and Richard Kipker, and Vera Freed, and two infant brothers, Welbur and Delbert.
Audrey is survived by her daughter, Shirley Dow of Lakeview, son, Roy (Anita) Schearer of Huntsville, four grandchildren, Barbara (John) Dow Muenze, Dwayne Dow, Carrie Schearer, and Eric (Rachel) Schearer, seven great grandchildren, James (Ruth) Muenze, Josh Muenze, Ben Muenze, Summer Dow, Dakota Pohlman, Abigail Schearer, and Morgan Schearer, and special family, Sara, Bernie, Brandon, and Haley Schilling.
Audrey worked beside her husband on the family farm and later at Westinghouse in Bellefontaine. She attended Grace Chapel Christian Union Church in Santa Fe.
Pastor Jon Dotson will begin funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, at Grace Chapel Christian Union Church in Santa Fe. Visitation is Monday, March 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at church. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center.
Due to state Covid-19 pandemic guidelines, attendees are asked to be symptom free, maintain social distancing and wear a facial covering.
Memorials may be given in her name to Grace Chapel Christian Union Church.
