A wave of color that has been sweeping the nation has caught on with Logan County residents.
Monday night, 22 women of various ages came together for the Logan County Libraries’ first adult coloring book meetup.
The “Color Me Calm” gathering was inspired by a nationwide trend, the library’s adult programming coordinator Jo Hudson said.
“All the libraries are starting groups right now,” Ms. Hudson said, enumerating the benefits adults can reap from the relaxing pastime they learned as tots.
“It’s a stress reliever — something you can do to take your mind off of things,” she said. “And for the library, it is relatively cheap.”
It’s also a social event for many of the women who attended the first gathering.
“I saw it in the newspaper and I knew my friend Becky (Longbrake) liked to color; so, I asked her if she wanted to come,” Bellefontaine resident Cheri Comstock said as she used colored pencils to color a design of a dragonfly. “And here we are.”
