Maxine L. Clingerman, 83, of Kenton, passed away at 9:07 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at Vancrest of Ada. She was born in Wood County on June 13, 1934, to the late Lee Alton and Maxine Pugh Stoddard.
On April 22, 1966, in Knoxville, Tenn., she married Cletus D. Clingerman and he preceded her in death June 5, 1999.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Harry) Jones of Lima, Cheryl Manns of Virginia, Melody L. (William Poulos) Fleece of Cleveland, Kelly (Kevin) Rickenbacher of Kenton and Sandra Hites of Marysville; her sons, Lee A. Fleece of Roundhead and Richard L. Fleece of Dallas, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Kay Calmes of Fostoria and Jany (Frank) Sleasman of Manchester, N.H.; and many nieces and nephews.
Maxine was a 1952 graduate of Dunkirk High School. She was a homemaker, who was a wonderful cook and baker. Maxine made the best Christmas candy and a lot of it. She was family oriented and loved to be around all her grandchildren and family. All who loved her will miss her.
Pastor David Holbrook officiates a funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan.10, at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, where visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9. Burial is in the Bellefontaine Cemetery.
