Brian C. Hartman, 29, of 812 Heritage Court, Apt. 17, and Kimberly A. Ihle, 27, of 11786 Sunview Ave., Lakeview, each was charged with theft Friday after they tried to leave Walmart, 2281 S. Main St., without paying for more than $100 in merchandise.
Store security staff observed the duo stash merchandise in a large bag and then watched as the two paid for items in their cart but not the bag before attempting to leave.
• John Wiseman, 60, of 1115 W. Columbus Ave., was charged Monday with theft, officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report.
Officers were called to the store at 6:45 p.m. and met with store security and the suspect. A store security employee claimed Wiseman did not scan more than $120 in meat items at a self-checkout terminal.
He allegedly told a store employee it was a mistake and that he was unfamiliar with the self-checkout process. The employee noted it was not his first offense and informed him he will no longer be allowed in the store.
Wiseman continued to claim it was a mistake to officers who issued him a summons.
• Danielle C.R. Rogan, 21, of Urbana, was lodged Monday in the Logan County Jail on a warrant for assault.
