Bellefontaine City Schools Board of Education members at their Monday evening meeting approved five-year contracts for the superintendent and treasurer, with the same 3 percent raises previously extended to classified and certified staff.
Superintendent Brad Hall’s new contract begins Aug. 1, 2022, and continues through July 31, 2027. His new salary was set at $128,649.06 per year.
This is the second 5-year contact extended to him by the board. Prior to that, Hall began his service to the district under a three-year contract.
Treasurer Joshua Wasson’s new contact runs for the same dates. His salary was set at $97,747 per year.
Also during the meeting, the superintendent reported he put out an all-call message to district families Monday night, encouraging mask-wearing by students, staff and visitors in the school buildings as the new school year begins, based upon recommendations made by Logan County Health Commissioner Dr. Boyd Hoddinott.
In a statement issued by Dr. Hoddinott Monday, he cited local concerns regarding a “significant increase of COVID-19 cases and the contagiousness of the Delta variant.”
Hall stated that while masks are strongly recommended in the school buildings, it is a personal choice at this time and is not a mandate.
