Upper Scioto Valley’s girls basketball team handled host Riverside for a 54-39 win Thursday in Northwestern Central Conference action.
The league-leading Rams are now 14-6 overall and 6-0 in the NWCC, while the Pirates fall to 6-15, 3-3.
USV got off to a fast start and led 23-4 at the end of the first quarter. The Rams outscored the Pirates 15-12 in the second quarter to take a 38-16 advantage at halftime.
The Pirates were unable to make a serious threat in the second half.
Marissa Davis and Shelby Giles each recorded a double-double to lead the Pirates.
Davis scored 14 points and pulled down 14 rebounds, while Giles had 12 points and 10 rebounds.
There was no junior varsity game Thursday.
Riverside hosts Dayton Christian on Saturday in a non-league contest.
