Taylor Coy’s senior basketball season was in jeopardy after being involved in a car accident in early December. She recovered in enough time to help her Benjamin Logan basketball team clinch its second consecutive outright Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division championship.

Coy, who played in Ben Logan’s first five games before sitting out 13 with injuries suffered in the car crash, buried two clutch free throws with 4.8 seconds remaining in overtime to ice a 47-43 victory over Northwestern on Thursday.
“I was nervous, but I knew I had to make them,” said Coy.
Ben Logan finished a perfect 10-0 in the CBC Mad River division and wrapped up the regular season with a 19-3 mark.
The Raiders had clinched a share of the title before Thursday’s game, but the win over the Warriors (15-6, 8-2) locked up the outright crown.
“I could not be more proud of these girls,” said Ben Logan head coach Donnie Sosby. “They had some battles with a lot of good teams and they never flinched. That is a credit to who they are. They are a great group of girls. They have worked extremely hard.”
The Raiders’ senior class of Coy, Lauren Oglesbee, Natalie Drumm and Dakota Deer enjoyed a sweet turnaround. They won just two league games as freshmen, but closed out their careers with back-to-back division titles.
“I am really happy for all of our girls, especially our seniors,” said Sosby.
