Indian Lake’s girls basketball team got its offense going quickly against host Northwestern on Wednesday to run away with a 63-27 Central Buckeye Conference victory.
The win moves the Lakers to 5-6 overall and 2-2 in the CBC Mad River standings. The Warriors drop to 3-7, 1-3.
Indian Lake came out on the attack in the first quarter to grab a 16-5 lead. The Lakers then outscored Northwestern 17-6 in the second quarter for a 33-11 halftime advantage.
There was no slowing down Indian Lake in the third quarter as the Lakers used a 19-3 run to extended their lead to 52-15.
The Lakers had four players score in double digits. Hailey Talbot led the way with 15 points, Kristen Young had 13 points and Bethany Golliday and Allison Kinney had 12 points each.
In junior varsity action, Northwestern beat Indian Lake 35-28. Kaitlyn Boberg led the Lakers with seven points and Cheyanne Hill had six points.
Indian Lake travels to Graham on Saturday for another CBC contest.
