Indian Lake’s wrestling team competed at home on Wednesday in a tri-match against Springfield and Northwestern.
The Lakers fell to the Wildcats in the first dual 38-18, but came back to beat the Warriors 41-18.
“We’re making progress and a lot of these guys have come a long way,” said IL head coach Ryan Dickson. “That’s hard to see in a dual meet score or in wins or losses. We just have to keep grinding toward the part of the season that matters in March.”
Hayden Pummel (170) and Lane Mefford (182/195) both went 2-0 for the Lakers, while Gage Cutlip-Pash (126), Nate Cummins (132), Noah Steed (138), Gage Lowery (160) and Joe Scarberry (195/220) all went 1-1.
“Hayden tech falled a kid who was previously undefeated from Northwestern, so that was nice to see,” said Dickson. “Lane bumped up and got a solid win by pin.”
Indian Lake is back on the mat Jan. 17-18 at the Maumee Bay Classic.
