West Liberty-Salem junior post player Selena Weaver earned second-team honors to highlight a group of four local players that were named to the all-Southwest District girls basketball squads.
The teams are selected by a panel of media members who cover the Southwest District. Weaver was one of two Tigers selected to the Division III all-district team. Teammate Emily Hollar, a sophomore guard, was an honorable mention pick.
Weaver averaged 13.2 points and nine rebounds per game. She recorded nine double-doubles this season.
Hollar turned in a strong all-around campaign, averaging nine points, 3.3 steals and 3.6 assists per contest. Weaver and Hollar helped the Tigers to a 17-7 record and a second- place finish in the OHC North division.
Benjamin Logan senior guard Savannah Pavoni received an honorable mention selection in Division II.
Pavoni, who went over 1,000 points for her career this season, averaged 10 points, 5.2 rebounds and two steals per contest.
Riverside junior guard Lauryn Sanford was a third-team selection for the Division IV squad. Sanford averaged 12.9 points per game to go with five rebounds and two assists per contest.
