Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to two separate domestic disputes over the weekend:
• David Gearhart, 59, of 11031 Oneida Path, Lakeview, was charged Friday with domestic violence following an incident that reportedly occurred Thursday evening.
About 8:35 a.m. Friday, deputies met with his sister, Gay L. Gearhart, 62, of the same address. She said she and her brother had gotten into an argument the previous evening and that he had assaulted her.
Deputies noted severe bruising to her face and bumps on her head.
Mr. Gearhart, 59, told deputies that the pair had argued and that she allegedly kicked him in the leg and pulled on his beard. He was placed under arrest for domestic violence and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
• A 13-year-old North Lewisburg girl was charged with domestic violence Friday evening and lodged in the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center following a domestic dispute at her residence.
About 8 p.m., Logan County deputies met with Champaign County Sheriff’s Office deputies in North Lewisburg in reference to the dispute involving siblings.
The 13-year-old reportedly contacted Champaign County deputies, stating that she had argued with her 15- year-old brother and said he had struck and choked her to the point that their 11-year-old sister stepped in between them.
Logan County deputies made contact with other family members, including the children’s mother. They contradicted the 13-year-old’s story, stating that she had been the one who became violent. The teen allegedly threw items at her brother and knocked her sister to the floor. There were no reported injuries.
