KRIS ACKLEY, GRAND CHAMPION T-BONE STEER
Kristopher Ackley bookended a day of showing cattle with grand championships in T-bone steer and dairy beef feeder competition.
It was Kristopher’s second-ever T-bone grand championship.
He said afterward that his 1,339-pound steer has been a primary focus this year.
“I worked with him a lot on a lot of early mornings, and he’s been a main reason I’ve been in the barn so much this last year,” Kris said of the T-bone steer, named Yak for the extended locks of fur that it adorned the top of cow’s head until fair week .
“He looked like a yak,” Kris said.
